Electricity is supplied by gas generator 24 hours a day.

A diesel generator is on stand-by for emergencies.
The South African standard is used for plug outlets, which provide 220 volts at 50 hertz. We provide international adaptors in all rooms.



Communication:

Cellular/mobile telephone reception is available only if guests have activated international roaming with their service provider.
We do not have telephones in the suites, but calls can be made at reception for the appropriate fee.
Complimentary Internet access is available in our business centre.

Currency:

The Mozambican currency is the Metica. However, the Euro and US Dollar are widely accepted.
Marlin Lodge accepts Visa & MasterCard credit cards only. We can process debit cards only if our electronic credit card machine has a link to the bank.
Cash payments may be made in: USD, GBP, EUROS, SA RAND & MZM (Mozambican Meticas).
We accept USD and SA RAND traveller’s cheques.

Climate

The main dry season runs from April to November and during this time, daytime temperatures average 24°C.
The rainy season is from November to March and temperatures average 27°C.
The country's highest temperatures occur in the north around Pemba and west towards Tete.
Rainfall averages 850 mm per annum along the coast while during intense rainfall periods, up to 2200 mm can be recorded.

Malaria in Mozambique:

Mozambique is a Malaria area and it is advised to use malaria prophylaxis. Consult your doctor or pharmacist regarding recommended brands before travelling.

A natural citronella mosquito repellent is provided in the chalets and bar area. It is advisable to protect yourself at dusk and dawn when mosquitoes are more active.
